We opened our restaurants for the joy of serving friends and creating an atmosphere where everyone who walks through the door feels like family. Our goal was to give the community a place reminiscent of their mothers’ table, now of course we could never compete with the mothers of the world, but we hope our food will invoke fond memories of the past.
Kelly has been a nurse for over 30 years with Rockledge Regional Medical Center, while Steve, a US Army veteran, has over 30 years of experience in the retail field as a regional and district manager.
We opened our namesake restaurant “Merritt Island Pancake House” in 2017 while having full time jobs during the week and operating the Pancake House on weekends only. We were blessed to have dedicated guests who encouraged us to open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch within our first year. With an outpouring of ever-growing support from the community, we purchased a building in the neighboring town of Rockledge, FL, right smack dab in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic, and with an abundance of safety measures in place we opened “My Island Pancake House” in September of 2020.
We were joined by our wonderful and talented daughter Katie during the opening of our Rockledge location. She has grown into a position where she oversees all our restaurants. She spent her school years outside of Nashville, Tennessee, and has worked in the Hospitality Industry her entire life. We could not successfully run these restaurants without her dedicated and determined work ethic. We are proud to now have Three Pancake houses in Brevard County with our most recent location in Melbourne, Florida.
The three of us are happy to welcome you to join us for Barbeque! November 2023 marks the Grand Opening of our first ever “My Island Smokehouse” located in Cocoa, Florida. With this new concept, we hope to bring all the flavor and enjoyment of our backyard barbeques inside and to your table.
For our family, this is about the love of cooking good food and producing an experience that you and your family will look forward to enjoying every time you visit. We hope to make our family and the community proud with both our service and our food. We ask everyone who visits with us to support the locally owned businesses in Brevard. You will see us, when we are not working, at those establishments as well. All of these owners deserve our support to allow everyone to succeed. We know most of these owners and they work so hard!
